March 8, 2017
The winner of The X Factor 2016, Isaiah, has been announced as Australia’s contestant at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in the Ukraine in May.

FremantleMedia Australia has a proud history of unearthing talent that find global success. Isaiah becomes the fourth FMA-discovered artist to appear in the world’s largest song contest, following in the footsteps of Dami Im, who was runner-up in 2016, Guy Sebastian who finished 5th in 2015, and Jessica Mauboy who was a guest performer in 2014.

Isaiah, who at just 17-years-old is already experiencing worldwide success with his first hit ‘It’s Gotta Be You’ going Platinum in Sweden and charting in more than 15 countries from Australia to the US,  will perform ‘Don’t Come Easy’ at the Song Contest.

Isaiah said:
"I'm so proud to be representing Australia as our entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Even though it has been a dream of mine, never did I think for one minute it would be a possibility. To be able to share this news with my family and friends is unbelievable. I can't wait to go to the Ukraine to perform ‘Don't Come Easy’. I will make Australia proud. Thank you to SBS and my label Sony for believing in me and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime."

The Eurovision Song Contest will screen on SBS over Friday, May 12; Saturday, May 13 and the Grand Final on Sunday, May 14 at 7.30pm.
